Hi! I have a Sunncamp two-bay awning, I use it with a 2006 Lunar Quasar 525. It was a very disappointing fit, the awning was so tight even on the slackest setting that the bottom of the awning was six to eight inches away from the side of the 'van at ground level; the stretchy rubber connectors broke under the strain, and furthermore, the bendy poles were so long that the awning actually went up in the air at the awning rail junction, which caused water to pool on the roof and eventually run down the side of the 'van inside the awning!
According to the Sunncamp literature my caravan awning rail is at the lower limit of the recommended ground to awning rail height. I was so disappointed with the awning that I wrote to Sunncamp about it but got no reply. In desperation I cut three inches off each of the poles, instantly it was obvious that the fit was better, so I cut another two and a half inches off each pole and now the awning fits like it is supposed to!
With a pair of long-nose pliers I pulled the elastic out of the bottom (non-ferrule) end, and snipped off the knot. I cut a bit of the pole and threaded the elastic back through, tying off with a knot as before. It was quick, easy, and it worked! Good luck, David.
