Good Morning All,

We were on a site recently when this Brand new t/a rolled up getting towed by a lovely new pick up.

My wife and i were chatting to a couple from the pitch behind us when i heard my wife screaming stop stop stop, but then this almighty crunch!

The poor guy had backed into the grass banking at a fair pace and crunched his nearside rear corner.

My point being there was surprisingly little visible damage apart from the foot pad on the steady.

I was surprised and amazed that a caravan could take a hit like that , hopefully the owner didn't have too much bad news as he was going to get it inspected when he returned from his break.

Looks like caravans are a bit stronger than i thought.

Having had what looked like minor damage to the back end it did turn out to be rather more of a problem than it first looked. If the back panel was damaged at all then it can be an expensive problem.

If its damaged the footpad only, it sounds like hes ridden up over the bank rather than hit it full on.

Robust and caravans are not two words that belong together.

He rode up and hit banking his corner actually dug a hole in the bank, that was what really surprised me, i was definitely expecting cracked panels.

As Raywood says probably hidden damage though.

Speaking from experience and a hefty repair bill from an incident when I had to avoid white van man on a narrow country lane and catching a low bank at very slow speed. They aren't !

Its not the and signals that I cannot understand, it is her standing where I cannot see her that causes the problem.

The last time madam gave me hand signals, I thought she was telling me she had spotted a patrol of Viet Cong. Honestly, she makes Magnus Pike look static......remember him?

Considering the time SWMBO spends looking at the mirror she struggles to understand what those stick out things are on my doors🤪🤪

Mrs DD is stunning , in my eyes, drives us to the pub when requested, and gets on with Mrs H.

Caravans are a bit like eggs. The shell can appear to be strong , but shaken enough the yoke can be damaged, or conversely you can crack an egg shell and the yoke is undamaged.

Untill the caravan has been checked, you don't know what damage has been done.

Good point Prof. Sadly we will ever know the outcome. If it was mine I’d be concerned about maintaining the water ingress warranty post repair.

We were hit in the rear by a runaway car. Lady had not put handbrake on and we were parked in layby for lunch. Both looked at back of caravan as it was quite a thump. On looking it seemed that there were just compression mark about size of a tea plate.. Cost to the Australian lady £1300 who was here on a visit. When talking to repair shop he showed me the cracks that I had not noticed. When done could not see where he had done it.
