No, it doesn't surprise me one bit. If I were one of the big OEM towbar manufacturers I'd be very reserved about making comments, too.

The dealer did agree to pay CTC for the rewiring and the replacement towbar (to help compensate us for the "inconvenience").

Fair play in the end.

You do get a swan neck to flange adaptor in South Africa check out the link below:
Anyone know if it is possible to convert a swan neck towball to a flange-type towball ? Is there a "convertor" that could bolt into bracket (as fixed to car) in lieu of the swan neck, which could then take the "traditional" flange-type towball (which could then be used with flange fitting cycle carrier) ?

Any advice welcome.
