Swan Neck Towbar and Bulldog Stabiliser

Hello,

Many thanks again for your help.

I have recently changed my caravan and it comes with a Bulldog 200 stabiliser.

Unfortunately my Range Rover has a swan neck towbar. I see that you can buy a bulldog adapter plate for a swan neck but it says that they must not be fitted to a tapered bar. Has anyone any experience of these? My towbar is not perfectly round but is generally "circular" in cross section.

Many thanks

I have used a blade type stabiliser on 2 previous cars with swan neck towbars. They work fine if fitted correctly. They cannot be fitted to a tapered bar because there is a tendency to slid down the taper, but yours not being 'perfectly' round will have the advantage of reducing the risk of the clamp rotating around the bar, which is the other problem often associated with the clamps. The only other problem I am aware of is not having a long enough straight part to the swan neck to take the clamp. If that is the case you have a problem for which I don't have an answer.

Good luck.
