Swift Command

Wouldn't the time and effort thinking this up have been better spent improving build quality, pre-delivery inspection etc.

With obvious exceptions the good old engineering maxim of 'what ain't there can't go wrong' is particularly apt for many caravan features. Reading the threads in a year or two when this gets out among the dealers promises to be quite entertaining

(I'm not normally this Luddite but this does seem a bit OTT).

I like the idea of the auto switch off of heating when using a kettle, but I can do that with a switch or button, I program my heating already, dont need a phone to do that. A lot of times we are in places where there are no phone signals anyway. Too much technology, too much to go wrong.

Swift command is brilliant, now fitted to all swift caravans and motorhomes.
Really looking forward to using mine, primarily for checking my liesure battery over winter.

I'll be using both my smart phone and Nexus tablet for using the app.
Obviuosly there will always be those who struggle with technology, but you can still use the local control pads which you would have to learn to use anyway.

So its your choice, stand up to alter controls or sit with your feet up using a tablet.

It does seem something for the techies but I had enough trouble getting the Truma system to work correctly. To me it is really a demonstration of what can be done rather than what is needed. The need to set anything while I am away is not something I have found I needed and it does not interest me as a potential benefit. Personally I would rather have a few pounds less on the caravan price and a simple system I can switch on and off from the caravan.

I think the remote control for the heating is directed more to the caravans put on a pitch as a static, i probably wouldn't use it myself except when on a metered site, just to warm it up before we arrive back after a day out, and probably only at the start and end of the season.
