Swift corniche 17/3 1999 electrical problems

Caravan connected to mains electric, new battery fitted. None of the 12v lights or radio worked after a week. And the battery level indicator shows battery almost empty. Why would it be draining battery when plugged into electric mains? Help needed please !

Do you have a multi-meter? check the voltage when the battery is supposed to be charging, should be over 13volts
If not then sounds like the charger is not working.
I had a problem with the charger on my Bailey, when i hooked up to mains it tripped half of the CCMH site we were staying on 🙂

Hi welcome to the forum we had a 1996 corniche and on the control panel had a switch for car or van, if the switch was on the car position would charge from the car whilst towing, so when on electric hook up the switch had to be turned to van for battery to change.
