Had a good look round the NEC show yesterday. Fewer manufacturers but some interesting layouts and many vans with updated interiors, plus the Pegasus of course and the Stealth (not to sure about the latter). Was really suprised though that no Swift Group caravans were fitted with an extractor for the kitchen area. We use our Omnivent all the time in our Abbey and wouldn't do without one. I asked one of the guys on the stand and he said they were not even available as an option. The only Swift caravan we saw with an Omnivent was a Freestyle dealer special. Seems a strange area to cut cost.

Hi Tim,

We were also there yesterday, to buy a van and had a long checklist of items that the van had to have, and a list of items we wanted it to have. The omnivent was on the list of desirables. Typical caravan buying day - we went expecting to buy an Elddis with an island bed layout and ended up buying a Swift with a side bed and rear bathroom. As you say, it didn't have an omnivent in the spec, but the dealer (Wandahome) didn't bat an eylid and said, yes, they could have Swift put one on for an additional

Pleased the dealers can fit one. i wonder if it means a new hole in the roof or if it goes in where the mini heki is. We were at the show yesterday too. We had always thought we would replace our current caravan with a Coachman but didn't really like the new upholstery in the Pastiche and the VIP is a lot more expensive and not available in the layout we want. Hence perhaps staying with Swift Group.

We have had both and much prefer the mini heki. However they are the same size and can be changed. If you pay for this to be done then fit the mini in the bthroom, it will transform it.All of the Swift Group specials have the fan but if asked they will order a mini for no extra charge.

yes i highlighted this point several months ago swift having really been lowering there equipment in the higher priced vans. did those of you who seen the new swifts not also notice very little difference been the charisma and the top of the range conqueror apart from the silver sides and slightly better fittings but does it really merit all that extra cash?

just ordered a new sterling europa, which also didn't have an extractor, asked dealer if we could have one fitted instead of the heki, wasn't a problem, slight extra charge but well worth it if you make use of it, we go to france every year and we used it in our last van to remove the warm air in the van not just to remove steam and cooking smells, would recommend one everytime.
