Quote " what about the new swift SMART construction"

What about it?
All it is, is the using of material other than wood for the battening and furniture fixing points, same idea as Bailey.
BUT, it does not mean that the van will not leak.Only time will tell.

Both turn out the odd lemon and you just have to hope you do not get one of those. Not a lot to choose between them but a good dealer who will deal with complaints is worth his weight in gold if you can find one. Other than that I would make a list of plusses an minusses for each and see which comes out on top.

Seriously if that's true, why didn't you say so in your first posts. I'm sure you would have received a much warmer welcome and a lot more help from the members on here.

Hello.
I think the questions you have asked demonstrate that you don't "know most things about" caravans. You have been a little naive, so now you've laid your cards on the table, lets be a little more realistic about what you want to know and perhaps why.
Most of us are quite willing to provide the benefit of our experience, so continue to ask your questions but may I suggest you try and and be a little more open and informative of what you are seeking.

Apology accepted as far as I'm concerned.

Back to your original question of Bailey or Swift?
I 'm now on my 5th caravan from Bailey. I find that the design and layout suits me but probably an important factor in me choosing that
is that the caravan dealership close to me is a Bailey dealership. I have dealt with them for at least 20 years, I find they give good service and are trustworthy. I have also found Bailey's customer services good to deal with in the past. I know there are others who would disagree with that last point, but that;s how I found them.
i have no eperience of the latest Swift caravans, my one and only Swift was in 1985 and it suffered badly from damp. That could have happened to any make of caravan though.

I've got a Unicorn series 2 Valencia, both my wife and really like it. The large front window gives the impression of space when sitting in the van. I know some do not like the look of it particularly from the outside, but, like every thing else it's down to personal preference.
Never seen a Pursuit yet
Have you had a look at the Eternit range of caravans, they're a bit different. Never saw one "in the flesh" yet either.

If you click on the link in Rob T 's posting and check out the technical specification you will find out how heavy they are.
Look at the MIRO figure and MTPLM figure.

Are eterniti caravans heavy?

Heavy both in weight and price but look nice. The slide out seems to give a bit more inside space. Just a new compny so personally I would hold off a bit before considering one even if I could afford it or had a car heavy enough to tow. The last new company to start making caravans didn't last that long.
