swift remote alarm

Hi guys has anyone ever had any trouble with the sargent remote alarm on any Swift or Abbey caravan. We disarmed the alarm as normal and i drove about 6 miles when the alarm went off.The remote fobs did nothing and the alarm stopped after a few minutes.I drove on and a few miles down the road it went off again the either remote fob did nothing so i had to disconnect the whole thing. Spoke to my dealer who said because that because i am 3 weeks late with the service it will not be covered by warranty. Anyone help ????

Markyboy dont be fobbed off with the 3 week late line. My caravan had its first service last October "3 weeks late" Ive had warrenty work done duing the year. Contact swift, im sure you have a few weeks leeway on your service.

Good luck

Markyboy tell the dealer to do one. Below is an extract from the Swift website.

These sharks wind me right up. Name and shame thats what I say.

The manufacturer will honour the Warranty for 36 months from the date of purchase (or hire purchase), provided that the caravan had an Annual Service within 90 days before or 60 days after each anniversary of the original date of purchase (or hire purchase).

The third Annual Service must, however, be carried out before the expiry of the 36 month period from the original date of purchase (or hire purchase

Markyboy and Shirley,

I had a problem with the alarm on my 2007 Swift Conqueror. My dealer suggested i rang Sargent direct. Sargent were most helpfull and taked me through reseting the alarm. There are 2 or 3 ways to reset the alarm from a simple reset button to unscrewing the box , switching it off, and reseting from scratch.

Give Sargent a ring, i am sure you will find them most helpfull.

we have had the opposite problem. when the alarm is armed, it doesn't go off if we walk inside the caravan. the tilt sensor is no use either.
