Swift top locker doors won't stay up.

Our 2005 Swift caravan has lazy top locker doors. They bang shut within a minute or less of being opened. Very annoying especially if the door catches that drinking glass you were just putting away. Swift tell me that a modification kit is available. Has anyone out there had any experience of this?

Jeff.

My friend has his booked in for service next week and hinges to be sorted

I have read about other people having it done

Which is how he got to know!!!

Are these the same doors as are on the Abbey Cardinal - if so ours require adjusting every week or so - most irritating when they come down on your wrist as you put something in them

Hi Jeff, is that why S/Gp went back to proper hinges? We looked at the S/Gp vans of this era and decided against them soly on the type of hinges that had been fitted. We could see this happening even in 2005. It may have been 2/3 farthings cheeper than the proper job. Some makers of c/vans seem to go blindly on with so called improvements and if fact take a step backwards. Bazz.

If any of you have problems with the large upper locker doors, an additional 3rd hinge can be fitted by your dealer under warranty.

Regards

Kath
