Goodbye, Farewell, Tata.

At least the customer service call centre will in the mother country, it's probably already in Mumbai!

With Landrover and Jaguar sold to Tata moters, I wonder what new models will be called, perhaps the Discovery Deli.

All suggestions on a postcard , or posted here.....

I think production will be safe for the next 5 yrs then i think it will all be moved as they can save 60% import duty into India if they are built there.

If they are not built in Europe they dont have have to invest heavily in getting the co2 emmissions down as they will be fined if the cars dont meet the new standards if still built here.

Bmw and other manufacturers have factories there already.

Only time will tell if this is good. Will the people who like to buy british still buy them?

Hubby and I will be sticking to occasional takeaway curries. If call centres and Tata cars are anything to go by there is no hope for Land Rover and Jaguar.

We off loaded are sooper dooper os so reliable (not) Disco in January, if LR can't understand or work out software upgrading and quality control god help them when Bombay Bilal is translating the instructions and offering guidance.

We've given up with directory enquiries and Indian call centres.

I read the below statement as meaning cars built in the EU not sold in the EU.

"The European Union will require all carmakers in Europe to lower the average carbon dioxide emissions of their fleets to 130 g/km by 2012 or face large fines."
