I won't ask HOW you put your heel through the table....!!

But it sounds to me like it's either a filler-type repair (some of the car-body fillers are very strong) or a new table top.

Two options. Either fill the hole with some sort of filler or glue a new sheet of Formica over the old table top. You'll need to adjust or renew the lipping around the edge, but a simple DIY job and cheaper than a new table.

thanks, finding formica supppliers doesnt seem so easy, but I will keep looking, it will be the easiest option.
