Tall persons' opinions please!

Hello there fellow forumites ... can you help me with a height/length query please? We have a 2010 Swift Challenger 570 (fb). I am an average 5' 4.5" (very important that .5"!) and my OH is 5'9" so we don't find our fixed bed uncomfortable length or width wise at all. However, our dear friends will be spending the night in the van with us soon and he is 6'4". Short of him lying with his legs out of the window or rooflight, does anyone know if he would fit on our front bed when made up to a double please? I cannot ask him to come and try out our bed as he is recovering from an op and is housebound at present. Any views would be much appreciated. I don't think he would fit comfortably on the fixed bed as we thought that may be the answer ... it's only for one night but I wouldn't want to induce a thrombosis anywhere on the poor man! Thanks as always. Lisa.

DD you are a star ... I am sure he will be most comfortable with the 4" extra to play with - good job his lady wife is only small herself and the height clearance in the van is about 6'4" so all is well!

We have an Eldiss with a front double that makes up to similar proportions. Our foster son who is 6 foot 3in is fine. He sleeps slightly diagonally, but doesn't complain (actually, he is 15 and so constantly complains but not about the bed

Ha ha Mel, know what you mean. Luke is 16 and a half and is just over 6' but very leggy and he has to lie diagonally on the bed. Cruelly last summer late one night we couldn't be bothered with the hassle of making up the front double and I suggested he slept on the longer of the two seats ... oh dear. He didn't enjoy the best night's sleep but it was only for one night so he had to like it or lump it really! Our friend will have to be extra nice to his Wife for one night if he wants to lie diagonally ... we are looking at the Lunar Delta T1 or Swift Conqueror ... just to have the longer front bed and fixed island bed really but I think in reality that's a year or so off ... we can dream until then and keep on trying to win the Lottery along with the millions of others lol!

6'8" x5'1" is the size your front double bed.
Big enough?
Hi Dusty,
Have you measured the bed at that, or is that what Swift tell you? If it's the latter, bear in mind that Swift quote the largest possible bed sizes, so the 5'1" will be the width of the bed with the front chest removed.
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,
Swift's measurements!

So it' 5'1" less the depth of the chest.

At least the length is ok
