Tear in porch awning roof...........

Hi,

We have a magnum 260 porch awning. Unfortunately I had an accident when erecting it last time and ripped the roof. the gash is about 3'-4' long. It is very thin material. Does anyone know if it is repairable?

Afternoon Pat,

In a nut shell, yes it is repairable speaking from past experience.

I have a Sunncamp ultima 260 porch awning, same as a Magnum, Easter 08 in Suffolk we had terrential wind and rain, i decided to take the awning down as it was bowing in the middle due to the ferocious wind and i didn't want the van damaged, however as we were pulling the awning out of the rail, there was a big ripping sound, 3/4's of the awning rail part stayed on the caravan and the main body of the awning tore away. I said a few expletives, stood there staring at it in the pooring rain and threw it in the back of the car in a sulk.

When we got back home i went onto Yell and typed in awning repairs in my local area which is Essex and a variety popped up.

I phoned a guy up who was a private repairer working out of his kitted out garage with the biggest sewing machine i have ever seen, took it to him for an inspection and to my horror he quoted
