I expect most of us have heard about the Panorama/MediVet undercover horror stories. The program is on BBC 1 tonight.
This my dilemma. After seeing a preview on tv I looked up the website of our local practice that I use for "The Bears".I was dismayed by the staff photos because they did not include the chap we have ALWAYS entrusted "The Bears" to.I rang the surgery to be told that he had left.I asked "who will look after the poms now then?" and received the reply "oh!we don't deal with reptiles any more" I pointed out "they are dogs for goodness sake!!!"
Who can I trust now?The breed suffers with stress and have to be handled gently. It is bad enough coping with the guilt when your beloved pet is ill anyway without finding out that the very people you have left them with are to all intents torturing them.
The overcharging is a separate issue and goes on as the norm when insurance is involved. It is not right but there it is.
I feel sorry for the animals and owners who have been treated so badly by these dreadful people and I hope they are not permanently affected.
This has really rocked my world and I do not know who I can trust. It is a huge responsibility as our pets cant tell us what happens when we are not there to monitor their care.
When we took" The Bears" for their boosters and health check a couple of weeks ago "Uncle ***** " did not mention he was leaving soon. It makes me wonder??????
