The Carpenters

Just watched a documentary on BBC 2 about the Carpenters. What a brilliant singing voice Karen had. It is a crying shame that such a talented young singer had to die so early in her life. She had a singing voice unique to herself which has not been matched since. Although she was ill for the later part of her career her voice never faltered. In my opinion the Carpenters deserve all time recognition for their music.

The Carpenters would still be enjoying successful careers to this day if Karen had lived.

Didn't see it myself. Always loved the music. Did Karen have an eating disorder as rumoured?

Apparantly they have not determined the actual cause of death but she did have annorexa. The death certificate stated heart failure as annorexa does not actually cause death.

I've seen that before..very sad. They were superb, I had an 8 track of theirs (showing my age now!) now on CD and still worth listening to.
