The cost of Pitches

Have you noticed the rise in pitch cost, and i know you pay for whats there but normally i go to one thats got basics and no club house,i rang one to go away this weekend, mmmm it was £18 for caravan with electric hook up and two people,Unders fours are free four to ten was £1.50, ten to sixteen was £2.50.any additional adult over the two was £3.00,an extra car was £5.00 and vistors for the day was £3.00,and you had to leave the site by midday otherwise you had another £3.00 to pay,and last but not least dogs where charged at £1.00 a day,The mind boggles i more or less told him to get stuffed and now i will go back to an old site i know and i can arrive when i want and leave as late as 2200 at no extra cost and get towed on and off if need be all thrown in for the cost of £9 per night..Think we all should make a list out of where not to go.

It's always been like this - it's called market economy.

Site fees vary according to the demand for a particular site because customer demand varies enormously.

Good for you Eddie, vote with your feet, I joined the CC and used both club sites and CL's this year with Cl's as low as

Hi Eddie

I too mainly use CC sites and their CLs.

Why do I want to pay a fortune per night just to have a bar or restaurant on site? Yes it's convenient but not necessarily cheap. It reminds me of teh Trout farms. You pay to go in. Pay for the food so you can feed the fish , pay to catch them and pay for them by the pound.

Ok once a year I use Polmanter St Ives. Not too dear but worth it.

Cheers

Alan

Hi all

We went to a CS site just outside Bakewell in the village of Great Longstone the site is called Dale Farm, no electric but with a solar panel we were ok, besides if your battery went flat a battery charger is available and the farmer is very good when it comes to leaving, if there is no one due in on your pitch then you can go when you like. P.S. it's only a five minute stroll into the village with it's two pub's and a brilliant butcher (black pudding sliced as thick as you like) we will definately be back there

Hi

I priced a site up recently that actually charged extra for windbreakss?? I think some sites are getting greedy and its up to us not to use them, rallies are a cheap way of holidaying and enjoyable, also, CLs are a cheap. I do use some Haven sites in March-June that are cheaper than CC sites but some the Haven sites are not that good. The most I have paid for a site is

As long as the pricing structure is clear, what does it matter whether it's one inclusive price per night or the addition of many items.

You can see in advance how much your outfit, etc will cost - what's the problem?
