The dreaded damp!!!

Hi all

We've just returned from a week in Chertsey (great base for exploring London) while we were there the dragon discovered a spongey patch in the rear nearside corner in the bathroom, when I checked it out the wet patch was about waist hieght to the floor. I checked the awninig rail but no obvious signs of a leak there, when I had a look at the rear panel I discovered a half dozen or so small holes in the aluminium!! these holes were about 3 mm max diameter I've since filled these holes with mastic and stuck a reflector over them then stuck reflectors on the other side of the van to balance things up, I've drilled a few holes inside to let the moisture out, have I done the right thing here?

I'll have to have the awning rail off to replace the mastic, has anyone done this and if so are there any pitfalls to watch out for?

thanks in anticipation

Hi Dean

I'll re-do the rail at the same time that I do the awning rail the 'van is 12 years old so will probably need new mastic
