Our warranty claim for the cracked panoramic window was submitted mid April. Parts are now in and the work is scheduled for w/c 17th July. Only 2 months later, which by Caravan parts supply standards is fairly impressive!
Woodsieboy; Hope you are making progress.
Mel
However the parts should have been available within weeks and not months! No wonder the caravan industry is going down the tubes!

Absolutely agree. In fact the window shouldn’t have cracked in the first place and the problem is do common that Swift should have issued a recall.
However, as Einstein said, “Everything’s Relative”; so I’ll take just a few months. The clear Gorilla tape has done a brilliant job in the meantime.

Swift Warranties are pretty good. This is a condition of their Body warrarranty. Mel and Woodiesboy must read their own documents .

  • Windows: the functionality of the opening and closing system (stays, handles and catches) and a warranty against the cracking of the acrylic. Excludes fading.
Looks reasonable and explains perhaps Mel's success?
Good luck
That great news that Swift warranties are because of my latest buy only went to look at a caravan dealer and just pleased Mel got hers sorted and it be soon repaired

I seem to remember an article about swift,it implied that they don't have a stock of spare windows,if a replacement's needed they order them from the manufacturers.

It took five months to obtain replacement rear panel for my Sprite, but as per Mel's solution white duct tape did the business.

Swift as most companies work on just in time deliveries for production build,so spares have to be on an order lead time from their supplier. No one holds stock nowadays due to costs
Most organisations use JIT and nothing wrong with that, but when spares are not available for a couple fo months that is a problem for the consumer. I would not be happy if we had to wait that amount of time for a spare for a car before we could use it again.

Stellantis are in the process of recalling a large number of Citroen cars as the front airbags are faulty. It is a saga that has been going on for years and millions of cars have been modified across a multitude of makes, as they all used airbags from the same supplier who has now gone out of business. Stellantis understood that the faults did not affect the airbags produced in Europe, but a French driver was killed recently. So Stellantis have now issued owners with a STOP-DRIVE notice pending a repair but the numbers are such that owners can be waiting three months fora repair. The airbags can fail without having a crash, and they shatter their metal casing, causing fatalities.

I'm asking my granddaughter to check if her Peugeot might have been similarly affected too. She's already had to sort out a recall for faulty cam belts on her 204 which although oil lubricated were wearing well before the scheduled life, and leading to engine oil starvation and failure.

Generally, the car industry is well organised with the flow of spares, despite using JIT, but occasionally there's a glitch - early on in it's life my VW had an issue with its sunroof but the spare part was itself faulty, with no more spares anywhere in the world and the car partly disassembled - so VW hired a like-for-like car to keep me mobile while they waited for the part to be made and shipped.

I have heard that MG is having difficulties getting some spares from China to allow dealers to complete warranty work - a victim of their own sales success.

Hi Mel
Thank you for your update, I did contact the man you recommended, but we have eventually arrived at what seems likely to be a solution
Despite initial problems with Swift not accepting the service record was up to date, thay have now accepted a warranty claim from a repairer local to us, as in less than 50 miles.
The repairer is now waiting for parts, so if yours is a benchmark, perhaps another 4 weeks if we are lucky, although we may lose 2 weeks due to Swift annual shutdown
The repairer is unable to confirm which parts will be sent from Swift, as in original or updated, so we now wait to hear from them once the parts arrive.
In the meantime the Gorilla Tape is doing its job.
Also just opened e mail from Swift inviting me to apply for a ticket for a factory visit to view 2025 models in September, am I tempted?

What year? The cracking pano windows seem to have especially plagued Caravans from 2018 onwards, and it is ongoing. Not saying that earlier ones are immune. A good warranty is vital.
Enjoy yours though, Looks very nice.

I’d be wanting to see 2026 models during a September visit.

....it is counter intuitive but it is well worthwhile never to close window blinds in full sun situations in Swift caravans.
Very tempting to close binds to cut out glare or close them in storage situations .
The plastic windows will get unbelievably hot if you do unless they are open.
There is a warning label to this effect on all the windows in Swift caravans.
