The dreaded Swift crack.

They were definitely on Lunar caravans and probably most other brands. Generally it was a small transparent sticker at bottom of the window with black type on it and a little diagram. The next time you go to your caravan have a careful look.

Obviously removed as a cost-saving measure by the time I bought my Lunar!

On first looking at the sticker I thought - surely they don't mean keep the windows shut if it's sunny?? No way would the OH stand for that!

It then dawned on me that those were probably meant to show moving vehicle streamlines.....

The meaning is, Keep windows closed whilst towing caravan. But how many do you see with the roof vents still open whilst travelling.

We saw a caravan roof open coming back from Blackpool on the M55 when we away one week ago.

Just checked all the Polyplastic windows and others skylights on our Bailey 2009 Wyoming. No stickers nor anything in the handbook.
We have both types of blind, roller and concertina.
I suspect Polyplastic had numerous problems circa 2010 which may explain why they and Swift etc are using the stickers

For all we know Polyplastic may have changed the formula or production method.

One for investigation or lets have more Punch and Judy whilst Border Billy munches his popcorn 🤪🤪

Update
I went to collect our caravan yesterday, all fixed under warranty, and appears to be a job well done, so thanks to Caravan Repairs at Gurney Slade
Also thanks to all the other forumites who responded with help and advice, especially Mel whose recommendation was really helpful.
Time will tell whether it goes again,but we got 6 years out of the original so fingers crossed

Picked up our van today. Panoramic window replaced. A shout out for AMCS in Langley Mill on the the Notts/Derbyshire border for being helpful, efficient and generally brilliant in sorting out the warranty claim and doing the work. I can now resign from the Gorilla Tape Club.

My hesitation in agreeing is the fact that Woodiesboy had no contract for repairs with the repairer. I assume saying this he didn’t pay any contribution?

The party to the Contract was Swift who instructed Gurney Slade and of course paid them.
Have I missed something, or perhaps the grey cells aren’t working as well as they should😥.

I've used AMCS a couple of times for out-of-warranty damp (awning rail resealing) and to have a new motor mover fitted - I've got them lined up to remove / refit my axle if I decide to get it rebuilt at Fraser Brown.

If you pay for something then there is a contract. In our case they agreed to go ahead with the repair if we made a small contribution. Elddis paid the balance. The same when we had the bonnet done on the Jeep. Jeep UK paid the majority and our contribution to the £3500 was only £180. The contract will be between the repairer and the consumer assuming the consumer paid the repairer direct. Elddis and Jeep wouldn't even come into the picture if made a claim against the repair done by the repairer. This was advice from Which Legal Services, but I never had to put it to the test.

Whether the repair “resets” the warranty cover for the item replaced, I don’t know.

The repair does not reset the warranty cover unless you make a payment towards the repair. Our caravan had the front replaced at just over 5 years old.

I am happy to confirm the warranty repair was carried out at no cost to me, I am also happy to confirm we have a 10 year bodyshell warranty, so still have another 4 years to go.
