The Leen at Pembridge has been a Caravan Club CL for about 30 years (I've used it for 25!), but this year Mr Norman decided to pull out of the CC network. The CC then published in the Club magazine that the site had closed. This post is simply to say that this is not true! It is still open, March to October, but is now a 10 van licenced independent site, still just as beautiful, but with five more pitches. This does not spoil the site in any way, so if you used the Leen in the past, it's still the same, and if you haven't used it before, then try it next year. Details are still in the current CC book.
Takings for this year have been 50% down, partly due to the awful summer, but also, I believe due to the notice in the CC magazine.
This is a lovely site which deserves to survive, so please support it if you can next year. With more and more sites filling up with seasonals,we need to keep these little gems open.
Mods, if this post breaks the rules, I apologise, and feel free to remove it.
PS, I have no connection with the site owners, other than as a frequent visitor to the site for twenty-five years.

No facilities, but electric to all pitches, and taps at most of them. The sites biggest attraction is its location.

We have to agree there. We have used the site on a number of occasions over the past couple of years. In the evenings we like to go to the New Inn or the Red Lion as the locals are very friendly. There is also a cider mill in the town!
Emmerson can you post the details on here or send them to me via Steve Parksy and I will get them posted up on a popular site search website. Thanks.

Our book is in the caravan which is in storage and will be for some time. At £10 per night it is still a bargain.

Joeby, that is exactly what happened here. After the "closure" was announced in the CC magazine, booking dropped off alarmingly.
That's why I posted on here.
I should point out though, that it is is closed for the winter now, re-open in March.

I have updated the "other" site with contact details so hopefully they will help. He picked a bad year to decide to break away as the rains would not have helped either.

thanks for that surfer, on behalf of the Normans.
The break-up had been building for some time I think. It wasn't a sudden decision.

Where else are they advertising as I could nto get onto their website yesterday? As fra as many CC are concerned the site is closed. Maybe the idea woudl be for him to becom affliated to the CC like the C & CC do with a number of sites that are no longer 5 van sites.

This is a very reliable details. I consent with you people. I have used it on many events over the last few years. In the nights we like to go to the New Inn or the Red Lion as the residents are very helpful.
