Hi, went to check on caravan at storage and was told that 21 vans /motorhomes had been targeted between 6th of this month and last Wednesday. Entry was made by main door lock by drilling between edge of door and main body work of unit, if they had resistance then they prized the door, units that had extra security on door had same treatment but damaged the extra security so windows were targeted. As I understand it no valuable items were taken some loose change and mobile phone chargers I have yet to talk to other owners on this.
CTV did show some what was thought to be suspicious activity but on further investigation this was ruled out. The police were called but as yet have not been seen and the owners of the storage have been told that they might come and have a look in a couple of weeks . Again there are those that want to cause damage/ upset and generally spoil peoples lives and for what?
 
Shocking! Where about is this? Up here in the Scottish Borders the farms are getting targeted right now. Low life oxygen thieving scum!

Do the storage site owners know how they accessed the site over that period, or was it a single incident in that time period.

It's thought that they got over the security fence. This is the first time in five years. We think that on the 6th of August they checked it out in that only a couple of vans were targeted then gave it a week and hit the others. Our local news highlighted a spate of thefts from a large lake on Exmoor where large outboard engines were nicked no connections with caravans.
 
We have had two or three groups of travellers, move onto a community sports field, forced the gates, maybe 20 units.
Supposed to have moved by last Thursday but more arrived.

My son keeps his van in storage with very good security, high fences and 3 sliding gates etc. They had a couple of units that had minor damage and the locks on my sons front locker were broken.
There was no sign of forced entry (and the place is like Fort Knox) sadly pointing to the fact that it must have been one of the other owners.
What a world we live in

These thieving toe rags have nothing to worry about as firstly they know the police will do very little to investigate and if they do and the culprits are caught, they get a slap on the hand and sent on a safari holiday! If they are unlucky enough and do end up in jail, they know that they will be released a couple of weeks later.

There is no deterrent like a caning or hard labour for criminals and for most it is a relaxing holiday at the expense of the taxpayer.
