Why is the National Forest so named. We were there the weekend. The site boasted that it was in the heart of the National Forest.

Where is the forest?. We spent the weekend looking for it. We were looking forward to walking in it. Can someone tell me where it is..........................................................

Hello Pat,

We visited the National Arboretum last year, proiblem is I would need to go back in about 30 years to see it as it is intended to be. Looks like the same applies to the National Forrest. Seriously this is part of a grand plan to reintroduce woodland to our landscape, and thats a good thing, but I will not be around to really get the benefit There is a similar project just outside Bedford, again you could drive past it at this time, and not be aware.

Lets hope our Children and grandchildren enjoy the work going on now.
