Don’t understand your comment “R14 superfluous” where did that come from.I think that the index "C" for the load will not be superfluous. In addition, I want to know the opinion of the manufacturer, but the model is old and today there may be a better option.
As the caravan is very old and I think a project it is unlikely that ALKO will have any data>Don’t understand your comment “R14 superfluous” where did that come from.
C relates to a commercial duty tyre often found on load carrying vans or trailers. They are generally sized at 80 or 85aspect ratio.
Alko took over BPW but if you want the opinion / advice of the manufacturer why not contact them.
Hi EW, I would stay with the 165 x 13 inch wheels and tyres, as Dusty dog states the wheel and tyre might not fit in the wheel arch, the wheel will be an extra inch in diameter but also the tyre with an "80" profile will increase diameter by maybe another 1/2 inch, so a total of 1,1/2 inch bigger. An R14 is larger diameter than R13. R14 if you did go that route with new wheels and tyres may not fit within the wheel arch
Also going to 14 inch could mean going for an aspect ratio below 80 which may not give the correct load index and nit C rated. There are R13 C rated tyres available. I had them on my Trigano Silver 420 pop top. They were Kenda Kargo Pro.Hi EW, I would stay with the 165 x 13 inch wheels and tyres, as Dusty dog states the wheel and tyre might not fit in the wheel arch, the wheel will be an extra inch in diameter but also the tyre with an "80" profile will increase diameter by maybe another 1/2 inch, so a total of 1,1/2 inch bigger.
