The use of 2 way radios...a growing trend?

we bought a set of 4 from argos and they are superb. They allow the kids a little more freedom when on site, we can keep in contact with them and they have great fun playing with them. I notice the more we go away the more the kids / adults seem to have them...for under £80 for 4 radios with a superb range and long battery life who can argue with that! Does anyone else use or find them useful on site?

We use ours all the time. On site the kids have one each so they don't have to keep reporting back. We also use them when manuvering the 'van on site and more importantly when we're putting the 'van away. We have half a foot each side and a brick wall at the back coupled with the fact that we have to do all this on a bend. The van is too heavy to hand manuvure it and we found it almost impossible untill we got the radios.

We have a set of 4 as well after our daughter went missing on a couple of the larger sites for a while. It was around the time that the two girls went missing at Soham that of course ended in tragedy, so we were worried sick. So the kids carry them on site now whenever they go off to play.

It's also quite entertaining if you pick up someone else on the same wavelength. Confusion all round normally.

The first time (pre-van) we went to France we went with my wife's parents, following their car in ours.

These radios made for an interesting trip, and it is a lot easier to organise a stop than a complex sequence of indicator flashes! :)
