Thetford c250 toilet

Hi / Can you help. C250 thetford toilet problem. No flush but i can hear the pump running. Any ideas. and how to fix would be appreciated . Regards Bill

Bill,
Normally with the C250 it is normally the pump that gives problems having bad contacts from the PCB under the push membrane, but yours seems okay If you have water in the tank have you looked for a leak in the pipework caused by frost damage or disjointed pipe? Certainly there is no problem with the electrics. The other cause could be the black jelly like gunge that builds up when using some flush fluids. Assuming no water leaks then I would drain out the flush tank. Refill with clean warm water a couple of times and drain. Then using warm water and some bicarb refill and use the pump, then leave for a couple of hours. It should start to dissolve the black gunge then you should be able to start flushing it through.

Keen to hear how you get on.

Hi Bill
As Clive above.
Just one point. I had a leak on mine, pipe came off and flooded under the wardrobe in my 442 end wash room, didn't notice at first. Don't know what model yours is but have a good look round.

Hi Bill,
Once you have Completed Clive’s advice and still no luck, I suspect the impeller has broken away from the motor shaft. A new pump will be required. Not too difficult to fit. See http://www.thetford.pl/serwis/naprawa_toalety/C250.pdf

Why is it at every Woosiefest one of us ends up working bogside :silly:  :woohoo:

From past experience, if you open the tank access door and look up quite near the caravan wall you'll see a plastic pipe in a U shape. This traps water and when it freezes it snaps the base of the pump to which one end of it fitted. Thetford did release a mod which adds an additional drain tube.
