Hi All,

On Thursday past I bought a rarely used Ace Jubilee, it was so rarely used that the grill had the plastic on the pan, the carpets were still wrapped, and the hob had not been used........you get the picture.

Well, any way, took the van out for its maiden run on Fri until today, and the digital display on the control panel has read fault "13", which according to the manual is "thermistor fail".

The van was serviced when we got it, but we called at the dealer who originally sold the van, and they say it is due a service, and the fridge will not be covered under warranty until this is done"by a recognized swift dealer".Could someone from swift, or anyone else with the knowledge confirm is this correct, no service no warranty on the fridge, or is the thetford warranty seperate from swift etc etc etc.

many thanks, anthony.

They are technically correct. The Warranty is not valid unless all servicing is done by a manufacturer recognised dealer. However, all is not lost. If the van is that new then the fridge is unlikely to have seen much use either and the fault may be relatively simple to fix. I assume you bought it privately, or you would have taken it back to where you bought it from. Try asking the previous owner if he can shed any ligt and then the next stage is either get it serviced at a recognised dealer (will cost

Hi Anthony,

Its partly right what you have been told by your dealer. Provided your van was serviced by an NCC approved dealer within the timescales set under the terms of the warranty the warranty on the van is still valid.

However, all Warranty work does need to be done by a Swift Group dealer which might complicate things a bit,

Thanks

Andy

Not really sure about the NCC bit, or when it was due service .

If I could forward a seriel number to yourselves, could a service date/schedule be forwarded to myself, so that all can be kept right.

Thanks.

Many thanks Andy,

contacted customer services this afternoon, Hayley, could not have been more helpful, unfortunitly, the vans original purchise date was April 08, due service april 09, or 60 days after to keep warranty up, but, I fear this has not been carried out.

Accoording to the dealer they got the van serviced by a NCC approved engineer, and am in the process of getting written proof, and the details added onto Swift group data base, will have to keep my fingers crossed.

many thanks again for excellent customer service, thats why we once again went for a swift group product.
