Hi All!

My Thetford Gas oven in my Baileys caravan has (half) stopped working. Two out of the three hobs will light but the 3rd one and the oven/grill have all stopped working. It is the two hobs with buttons on the left hand side that work.. and the hob button and grill/oven button on the right that have stopped.. what could be possible problems? I changed the gas bottle for the 2nd time ever the other day. The oven did light again after that once but hasn't worked since. I presume it can't be a problem with the gas coming through as the two others work!

Sounds though you have a problem with the igniters on these if you can hear and smell gas coming through
I can't actually hear or smell the gas .. Im having to wait till monday till someon can bring me a match/lighter to test it.. but it doesnt seem to be coming throught . but is obviously coming through for the other two hobs and the igniters working for them so its very strange!

Is there anything stopping the taps when turned being pressed right in to release the gas. Have they gone stiff. If so pull knobs off and give spindle a light spray of WD40.

Maybe in his youth his parents didn't allow him access to matches etc. 🤔
Im a she , but your right i could use a twig but its been raining solid for 2 days here so not much chance of finding a dry one, but that is one idea. I have paper etc inside too but i HATE fire and didnt fancy starting one on something fast burning like that because knowing my luck the caravan will set alight :ROFLMAO:

I have had a play around with the knobs and they seem to be turning ok...it does sound like gas is coming out of the hob but unsure with the oven. If it was the ignighter not working how do i fix that? It is the same igniter button for all of them so is it strange half of it is working and the other isnt? Thanks for your help!

DO NOT USE NAKED FLAMES TO TEST FOR GAS.

If the hob and oven are not working properly, as you describe, it sound like blocked injectors or possibly ignitor issues. I have to advise that other than general cleaning (where you do not need any tools to remove parts) unless you are fully competent at gas work it is necessary to call in service technician to service the cooker.

I have had a semi blocked jet before on the grille. The gas pipe leading to it rusted allowing debris to block the miniscule tiny jet stopping the gas flow. It meant total removal of the whole cooker, disconnecting the gas and electric supply.
If you are NOT competent or qualified to go this far then I am afraid you need to call in an expert engineer, say an AWS engineer https://www.approvedworkshops.co.uk/find-approved-workshop.
