Thetford oven

Hi
I have bailey pursuit 560-5 2018 my oven keeps going out when the door is shut this is thetford. When lighting the oven and shutting the door it gradually goes out between 5 and 10mins from right to left. When I open the door it's fine, could this be the Thermocouple that need replacing or is it something else ?

From your description it definitely is not a problem with a thermocouple which is related to the flame failure detection system. If it was faulty the flame would shut off as soon as you release the gas valve knob.

Do remember the ovens gas valve also has a thermostat function which will adjust the size of the flame as the oven heats up. But it would only turn the gas down to its pilot light and not completely off.

Debris from cooking can some time affect the burner, this might make part of the flame smaller and another part slightly bigger, bif the flame lights it would normally keep burning.

You should check the owners handbook for information about cleaning the oven and its burner and do it. If that doesn't resolve the issue you may need to get a gas service on the oven.

Hi
This is quite common on caravan and motorhome ovens due to air not circulating through the oven due to the vent to the outside not being warm, to overcome this light the oven, open the oven door and leave open for a few minutes, this encourages heat into the vent, after a few minutes close the door and the oven should stay lit.
Hope this helps
