Thetford toilet, sliding top opener.

I've noticed that the top opener on the cassette seems loose and likely to slide out of its rails. It used to have more of a "click" when closed before? I've tried a search on Google, but couldn't find an answer.

That's not unusual.
I often pull mine out and find the top lid has slid.
Just make sure you put it into the closed position before placing it back in its housing.
Nothing to worry about.

Make sure the lid is the right way round - if it isn't it will usually still work but there is no retention.

Otherwise, if you have the small waste container you can replace the top part of the box that has the slide on it. Have a look at
www.leisurespares.co.uk
where you will find a complete breakdown of all the parts along with part numbers. They are based at Boroughbridge, N Yorks and will let you collect by arrangement provided you take the exact cash with you.

Cheers Woodentop. I can't work out what's not working tbh? Definitely right way round, been using them long enough. No catch to be seen so I thought may be it's a magnetic type of "hold"in place. It's not too important, but I will check it out again very soon.

So, Looks like it's a friction "hold" between the sliding lid and the Lip Seal? Only thing I can come up with? Cheer's Sproket.

Just don't be too confident anything actually "holds" it in place and remove it completely before emptying the cassette's contents.
I have learnt this the hard way by losing it down into a deep cesspit. I have also learnt it seems to serve no obvious purpose other than cosmetic. The £12 to replace it was easy to resist.
