Hello - we have booked six nights as the schools break up in July (oh the joys of working in a Primary School!) and we will be taking my 15 half year old son with us to this site. I have heard good things from our neighbours, but they don't have any children - just a dog. Anyone had any experience of staying on this site and what there would be for us all to do together - i.e. swimming, golf etc.? Many thanks.

I have been to that site which is nice enough but no longer have kids with us, only two dogs which it's ok for. A lot of people seem to bring horses to the park. There is a dry ski slope there. Be careful of the speed cameras in that area because I've never seen so many grouped together.

I took my foster son there when he was 10. (he is 14 now) He enjoyed the cycling (there was a cycle hire place in the park) and the toboggan run. He didn't go on the ski slope. It was spring and cold and windy so the sea wasn't an option. I don't remember there being many young people on the site, but finding sites that cater for teens (but are not big parks like Haven) is difficult. let us know if you find a good teen friendly site.

Thanks all - any info. gratefully received! As my son is an only child luckily he is used to his own company and is quite happy to stay with us or go off and kick a ball about on his own. I hope there will be one or two kids his own age to perhaps play a game of pool with (should there be that facility on site). Failing that his step-Dad can take him off to play golf (yawn) or try and drown him in the sea by teaching him to surf!! We do all get on well together and I've promised him we'll take a selection of bored games (sorry board games

) as he's addicted to his Fifa Monopoly game ... yawn again! Cheers all. LIsa.

Thanks for the heads up about the speed cameras too - always good to know!

Anyone thinking of going to Pembrey Country Park Caravan Club site - go!!! OK, we got lucky with the weather and had the first week of the school holidays where the temp didn't drop below the high 70's in the day, meaning that we spent everyday on the beach/in the sea (which was warm, shock horror). Caravan Club site is lovely, you have a key to get into the loos/showers, to stop people wandering off the beach and using facilities I suppose but it wasn't a problem. Loved this site and am keen to return next summer where we shall be most def taking our bikes. Oh and the people on the site were the friendliest we've ever come across.
Tip: if you don't want to see/hear the children in and around the play area - don't pitch up near there! Having said that, none of the many (and I mean many) children on site were a problem at all and it was nice to see them all enjoying themselves.

Highly recommended site, can see why it's always booked up.
