Two youngsters and newborn strolling around Tesco , no masks. No sign of mask exemptions, staff indifferent🙀

Post New Year’s Day , prices appear to have risen by various amounts. Lidl Coke up 3 p, tesco eggs up etc.

Euro lottery🤮. Like a fool I invested because of the £14 m rollover. It’s a miracle ! I got 5 numbers correct. No big winners at all. Mine were 3 of 5 first numbers drawn plus both star numbers. An excellent result in this impossible draw. I won £55.80🤪🤪wow! Believe it or not I had the third highest numbers drawn. First prize with 4 of 5 first drawn and 2 stars was just over £1k. Why don’t they balance up the winners , share out and make everyone happy🤔

Unfortunately that happens in various places, but staff in the shops aren’t required to enforce the rules. I have some sympathy for the staff, as who wants their mother, sister or any relative lined up for a Glaswegian kiss or worse.

New Year Rant,
Credit card, paid off for new car tyres and Christmas presents. Paid my incomeTax bill for last year.
Took Mrs H, to doctor yesterday, as her back, and breathing is bad, so now we have to go for a back Xray, And more breathing checks.
It is great this retirment. I think I will start a photograph diary of, "Hospital Departments we have visited this Year."
I have a feeling this years caravanning is going to be messed around again.
Rant over. 😃

We do well on PBonds. Contrary to all the financial boffins we beat all the banks hands down every year.
We do quite well over the year very near the 1% rate they advertise which beats any safe investment we can find.
I am afraid the lottery guarantees most people a loss over the period you play. I know some lucky persons do make money, but not many.

Nevertheless a 1% return is significantly below the rate of inflation so in real terms you'll always get back less than you invested.

The only money we have in "safe" investments is 3 months worth of expenses in instant access accounts averaging just under 1% - the rest is in carefully chosen unit trusts which have averaged just under 7% per annum over each of the last 5 years.

Premium bonds are a gamble, lottery tickets are a gamble, stocks & shares are a gamble - take your pick.

I wish I had invested in a few caravans two years ago! I like the Premium Bonds, there’s always a chance but unlike Lottery and Stocks and Shares you retain your capital. I feel sorry for the youngsters trying to get on the property market😥😥

You do retain your capital when investing in Stocks & Shares but it MAY go down - it's the Lottery where the capital disappears instantly.

The property market is a strange thing - most of us will never see the benefit of the growth as we always need a house to live in - all the benefit goes to the next generation who receive our legacies.

I know what you mean, our house cost us £12,500 many years ago. It is worth many times that now, but as any replacement will also have gone up by a similar amount, the profit is theoretical. Our daughters look like the ones who would reap the benefit of the rise.

It's definitely concerning to hear about those kids and newborns not wearing masks at Tesco, especially with the current situation. It's also frustrating to hear about the price increases at the store. As for the euro lottery, I need to familiarize myself with the feeling of investing money because of the big winnings. Congrats on your win, even though it's not a huge amount, it's still something! However, money is not essential when I play Casino Mate Australia at https://casino-mate-australia.com/, as I am not a gambling person and play for fun and enjoyment. I wish you good luck and all the best.
