Hello

I'm looking for a bit of advice and guidance regarding the icey weather conditions at the moment and whether it's considered safe to be taking a caravan on a trip. Meant be going to Holmfirth for the weekend tomorrow. The roads all seem ok when I'm driving around in my work van so I'm guessing it's safe for a caravan.

Many thanks
Colin

There’s a potential named storm coming in for the weekend. We have cancelled a trip to Leicestershire (no caravan) as there’s not much point visiting places in such weather. Dog is pleased as she is not now going into kennels.

Just reported on news 5 minutes ago that Saturday could be very bad. We got caught once and had to go home without the caravan and then collect it a few days later.

Like OC and Buckman I would be more concerned about the forecast storm on Saturday. Roads are otherwise fine and if you are going to the main site in Holmfirth it is on a main road.
BTW can recommend the nearby pub: called something to do with a tree ( Jacob’s tree?????)

Luckily we're only staying overnight tomorrow at the Holme Valley site just outside Holmfirth so I think we should be ok.
Thanks to all for the info 👍
However the weather could arrive sooner so make sure that you have plenty of gas in gas EHU fails, food and water. Enough for 3 or more days.
