Time wasted on Car insurance renewal

My car insurance is due and as usual I have spent time getting alternative quotes from comparison websites and a few calls direct. What a waste of time it has been this year. Finding a company to cover more than 60 days abroad was difficult but eventually I got a few quotes around what I paid last time. The Caravan Club quoted me £200 more than my existing company (LV via Nationwide ) and promised to beat my existing company by £25 when I got the renewal through. It came Wednesday £6 more than last year, after I informed them I had picked up 3 points it was still £6 up. They can have my business even if the CC offer was followed through, why should they have my custom after ,asking for so much the first place?

Insurance is a funny old game.Our house insurance,which was in my OH's name, went up 20% for some reason on renewal (no claims ).I went online,used my name,got it 5% cheaper than the previous year.Loyalty most definately doesn't pay.
