Have got a van advertised on the excellent free online sales page of this mag,and have had really good response.

But when someone rings you to arrange a viewing time and you wait up for them because they are travelling a fair way to see it and because i'm on nights i arrange time off the following shift to catch up on sleep.

Is it petty for me to get p****d off when they don't show and not even a call to say they changed their mind's.

Chuffing time waster's,i've had enough.

i always ask for a mobile number so i can contact them.
I think Paul is spot on here with that one.

Getting potential buyers to show committment is near impossible but a mobile number certainly focuses the mind!

Mark - I don't think it's petty of you at all. Time and time again I have tried to sell things through classifieds and you get this kind of person.

I wish there was a similar system to Ebay, where timewasters got negative feedback and therefore are restricted from selling again.

I would be a bit cautious about giving my address to someone who says he's travelling a long distance - my caution is a sign of the nasty times we live in. I would suggest getting him to some nearby place easily found, getting him to call you from there and going to collect him. Otherwise you may come home from work one day to an empty drive.

If genuine he should understand your caution; if not you'll probably put him off.

("he" could be "either" of course0
