To Italy by rail

I've been trying to find out the feasability of getting to Italy by taking my car and caravan on the train.

Does anyone know of or have experience with taking a car and caravan on a motorail from Calais to Rome or part way there.

mary, i do know that some trucks move through europe long distance by train, its cheaper once fuel and time is taken into account. How you go about finding out i would not know

As you will see, Nice is about as far as you will get by motorail from Calais on your way to Italy.
