Toilet Flush Problem

Our electric Thetford flush stopped working making sounds as if it was empty. We had done 3 weeks travelling without a problem and had been parked on site 3 days. Filling it didn't make any difference. Moving on next day and after 2 hours driving (you know how it is) toilet flushes fine. I only ever use proper pink stuff which goes in before the water in measured dose. If dirt is being introduced somehow and blocking the flow how can I clear it without hooking up and driving 80 miles? I tried a needle into the opening without any result so nothing right at the end.

Any help greatly appreciated

David, if when you press the flush button the pump sounds like its working, then that indicates the fuse is ok.

It could be one of several things, a pipe come off somewhere, a faulty electric valve or a loose connection.

Go to : http://www.thetford-europe.com/

Select English as language, then user information, then Repair Instructions, look for your model of toilet, it will be in the C200 series where you can see what needs to be done to effect different repairs.

Be advised that dismantling a swivel type toilet is not easy and as most parts are of a plastic material, very easily damaged, and some parts are extrememly awkward to get to!!!
