toilet flush sticking

i noticed the other day when i entered my van i could hear a whirring noise coming from the toilet -

after a bit of investigation i found it was the blue flush button on the toilet that seemed to be stuck in the flush position - lucky there was no water in the toilet otherwise the continous flushing could have flooded the van!!

after a few button presses it seemd to release it self - but i checked again today and it had stuck in the on position again - again i pressed it a few times and it released - but is there any way i can get at the button and unstik it at all - i think it is just stiff after years of use but not sure how to get at the button and the manual is no real help -

If you can tell us a bit more about what make / model of toilet that is fitted in your van, then maybe someone could point you in the right direction.
