Toilet fuse keeps blowing.

We've a swift charisma 570 2008 model. Our toilet stopped flushing so looked at fuse within the unit and it had blown so changed it and it blew straight away again? Any ideas what this could be. Was fine when we drained it down for the winter and is now playing up?

Either the motor is not turning for some reason or it has gone internally short circuit. Try disconnecting the pump and seeing if the fuse still blows. If not then it has to be the pump, if it does then it is wiring or the control board.

I had a problem with a seized pump, but managed to remove it and gently rotate the impeller which solved the problem. Worth a try before buying a new pump.

Not sure which toilet you have? Those with the fuse in the cassette compartment suffer from corrosion of the fuse itself and the terminal attached to it. When I bought my van, the toilet worked for a few days then quit. The fuse and terminals were so corroded, the fuse (20amp used instead of 3 amp!) could not be pulled, and all had to be replaced.

We had this happen on our last van, as mentioned before we cleaned the impeller and it worked fine. We did need a new pump some months later though.
