TomTom 720 Go

Bought this about two weeks ago so still learning. Can anyone tell me that when I go to help me menue I get Dublin as my nearest chemist, police station, and health center, they are 153 miles away This shows no matter where I am in the UK.please help.

Hello J.Lo. Yes, this is how they are setup when new. You can download the modified lists of Doctors, chemists and police stations from the Tomtom website. These lists are not like the lists of POI's that you get from other sites, as you cannot edit them.Having said that, the new lists are not "fool-proof" complete or accurate. If you join the Mapshare system and use Tomtom Home, then the entries will be updated automatically eventually, (that is if other people take the trouble to correct the entries)

Hello J.LO. I have a 720 and some help sections are ok, others are not. Watch this post and I will get back to you with an answere.

Regards David
Thanks David mmost of mine are ok its just the ones ive mentioned. Look forward to a resultJ.Lo

Hi J.Lo. The position is this: TomTom maps are supplied by Tele Atlas who also throw in the POI.s (points of interest) It is a complete lottery which ones are on your TT. My dentist, police, doctor's pharmacy and vets are all Dutch. My garages and hospitals are all fairly local. If you go to Pocket GPS world (Google it) there is a mine of information on this site and a very good and helpful forum, so if you have any other questions concerning TT720 they will help you out. Also do you have Tom Tom Home on your computer? This will update your device automatically. Also make sure the first thing you do when you have TT home is to make a back up of your device, onto your computer. If I can help in any way let me know.
