I was in a discussion with friends last year about a subject similar to this.

I was supprised to find so many men say they got married because they wanted to make their partner happy. Not because they saw it as a way for them to be happy.

As for me, I got a happy stable relationship and a partner who is a true friend. Could I want more?

Becoming a husband meant I was free to go waterskiing on a weekend instead of recover from a hangover, becoming a father, now THAT'S loss of liberty!,

I love my wife dearly. She is the light of my life . She's a shining beacon that brings me happiness each day, from the time I open my eyes in the morning and see her lying next to me to the last peck on the cheek before we sleep. We have been married for 40 years and theres still magic in our relationship. We were going out together for four years before we married and my stomach still has butterflies when I see her, just as it did then. I love you sweetie pie :O)

That's why this Forum is so great! There I was sitting here, arm in sling, thinking I was the only one. Thanks L.B, for coming out of the closet on this matter. Should we start our own self help group?

Nope, hang on, I beter check with the wife.

Ok, she says, that's fine as long as I don't forget the ironing.

So, how about it Lordy, you in?

What I want to know is why is there no homes for battered husbands? During my employment with local councils I often produced drawing associated with construction work on homes for battered wives but never anything for battered husbands.

Like the old joke about the chap who took his wife to a wife swapping party and ended up with a KIT KAT mug.

OR

The party where you threw your door keys into a pot - he ended up with his own door key.

Have no fear the wife is out at a neighbour's house for the evening.
