Heading off late May/June no real fixed itinerary but have never visited the Rhine area and reckon now is the time, Rudesheim and Boppard are on our list of possible visits and now we come to the question - can anyone tell me if dogs are allowed on the cable cars (would imagine they are) as we always have the hound with us and like the idea of cable car up and a pleasant walk down.
Any other info./ suggestions as always greatfully appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Wee Lutz has already answered this question we have been on these twice with Dogs.
If you need some site reviews or help look at my website as on my signature below. Any other questions do not be afraid to ask. We are in Austria at the moment having travelled 10 days through Germany with 4 stops enroute. The Rhine is an excellent area to see plus the Mosel too. Cheers

Know nothing about dogs but have visited the area a couple of times. There is a nice site in Rudesheim here http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/campingplatz_rudesheim_am_rhein_.htm Unless you pitch up in Lutz's back garden

We have also stayed here http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/campingpark_sonneneck.htm which is one of many campsites in the Rhine valley. One point to remember about staying in Rhine Valley campsites is that apart from the majesty of the river there will be an ellement of road and rail noise. Rudesheim is better from that point of view as the valley is wider at that point. I have several blogs on trips to Germany on my website.
