Tow Bar Fitters

Morning All
I have just ordered a new (used) car, the garage want some £1700 to supply and fit a tow bar, its a BMW 520 tourer, anyone know of a good supplier in the Monmouthshire area, or a mobile fitter.

Thanks

If the car is still under warranty make sure that whatever is fitted does not invalidate the warranty as the old way of electrical connection aka scotchlok may well. The phrase is 'vehicle specific wiring kit'
Look at supplers like Witter and Indespension on line.

VERY few dealers fit towbars.......ask them who they get to fit it and go direct....

Generally for a 5 series BMW, Towsure supply one for between £160 and £180, and supply fitting instructions so if you are happy fitting it yourself, you an do. The price of the electrics is on top of this. Most competent mechanics should be able to fit one in a few hours at £25-£40 per hour. So it begs the question where your dealer gets £1700 from, I think they may be pricing it so you do go elsewhere.

Hi Richard.

You could try Mercia Towing Ltd Hereford. They supply and fit towbars. My late father-in-law had several towbars fitted at home in Leominster by them.

As they are in Harrow road by Bulmers, you could leave the motor there and do a shop in sainbury's or walk into the city center quite easily from there to while the time away.
