Hi just after a bit of advice, we got a discovery td5 as our tow vehicle ,we couldn’t hitch the caravan on unless the rear door was open ,we’ve had a two inch spacer fitted today has anybody used them and would say there safe . Cheers

Lutz said:As I understand the OP's post the issue is not one of height, but one of extending the effective length of the towbar. It should be noted that this is only permissible if the towbar manufacturer has explictly approved the use of spacers. They must be covered in his type approval documentation which must also state the maximum allowable thickness of spacer.
