As a newcomer to this formum (but not to caravans or the magazine) could i ask why the apparant lack of models from BMW? Would have thought the new 530d could have made an appearance?

Many thanks
Kev

Hi Kev and welcome to the forum – thanks for posting.

As all the testing takes part across one week, it is a case of which cars are available with tow bars. We've nothing against BMWs and the 530d certainly has the potential to be a stonking tow car – hopefully we'll get one for an individual test soon.

Basically it all comes down to a matter of opinion, but there can be no doubt that the Disco is an excellent tow car and would do well against any opposition. What should win depends on your priorities and bank balance but I would not argue against the winner here even if it is well in excess of what I need and my bank balance but you never know if Ernie will help out.
No idea why BMW do not enter any models but unless they do they will never win.

1. BMW were asked to submit several vehicles, but didn't.

2. Audi Q7 was beaten in last years TCA by the Discovery 4, so ineligible.

It would be interesting to know which manufactures you asked and didn't supply any vehicles?
You can only test the cars that the manufactures provide i suppose, im guessing your hands are tied in that respect.
