Tow car for Compass Rallye 2 Berth

Friends of ours have just had their car written off by a hit and run driver. They towed their 2 berth 1991 Compass Rallye with a 1.8 Vauxhall Vectra. They are now having to find another towcar. As they are on a pension they want one which is also economical for when they are not towing. They also like the idea of climbing up to the seats and have been looking at a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 CDi. This seems quite big just for the two of them for everyday use.Could anybody please help with any suggestions for a suitable tow car with the higher level seating. The max weight of the van is around 950 kg but they like to have quite a bit to spare. They have been looking at vehicles 3 to 4 years old.

Hi, why not go for a Citroen Picasso 2.0 hdi?

Max tow 1300kg,nice fairly high driving position.

And when solo will achieve up to 50mpg!

Our 51 plate one used to tow a Pagent 5 series Vendee with no prob what so ever (not fully loaded before anyone say's anything] and we got avg 30mpg towing.
