Just changed to a Ford Mondeo 1.8 Zetec, is it worth fitting a tow bar to this model, as it got enough power to tow a 1100cwt. Abbey ? any comments please. Thanks
We used to have one of these, which pulled our Avondale Perle Orion with no problems, (weight 100kg max). We then changed to a Fleetwood Countryside (weight 1250kg max). Mondeo pulled both with no problems, although we never fulled loaded either van and our mondeo was the estate version. Go for it!
I currently tow an Abbey freestyle (approx 1050kg) with a 1.8 lx mondeo petrol engined car. Although I have had no problems towing I feel , only in my opinion of course, that it is slightly underpowered.Also the fuel economy suffers as a result.That is why Iam currently looking at the new shape tdci powered mondeo,has anyone got any advice on this car?
