Towbar Electrics

We had our towbar fitted last year and all seemed ok, however we have just hooked up in preparation for the new season and have noticed that although the indicators work fine on both car and van no other lights will work on the caravan (reverse, side lights etc) although they do work on the car. I have checked all relevant fuses on the car and they are all fine. Can anyone help? any advice would be appreciated as I have no idea where to start.

Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris first of all just try a shot of WD40 down the pins on car and van mayb just a little corrosion on them.

I have heard Cilit Bang does a good job but WD will waterproof connections as well.

I hope this does the job for you.

Sir Roger

You don't happen to have water lying inside any of your lights do you? My caravan road lights have a fuse on each individual circuit, so it may be worth checking if you have something similar.

The alternative is to buy a small meter, unless you already have one, (they're only a few quid in B & Q, and always worth having), and check each pin.
