Towbar prices

Just been ringing around to get an idea of prices for fitting of a bar and twin electrics on a Passat Estate.

The supplying dealer wants...........£847.20 inc. VAT

EECO want.......................£205.00 inc.VAT

Both are approved brackets, properly wired into the loom (no problems with ABS, stability control etc), and prices are for fixed brackets in each case.

EECO is also guaranteed for the life of the car.

I`m now going to go away and think about it....

I asked my VW dealer how much it would cost to fit a tow bar to my Touran. Sit down first.........

Hi Angus.

If you go to www.yell,com , And punch in tow bar fitters, It should give you independent companies who only fit tow bars around the area where you live.

I too was given a highly inflated quote from the dealership where I bought my car from, To have a removable tow bar fitted with twin electrics, They quoted me

Sorry, but my original post was tinged with sarcasm.

I`m getting the bar fitted by EECO on Friday, even though I don`t have to pay for it, I think the amount charged by the VW dealer is nothing short of immoral, and past experience of VW `professionals` means I will probably get a better job done anyway.
