I am just about to get a towbar fitted to the new (at least to me) Volvo S80 we now have. All the major suppliers offer one but the problem is the electrics. The Volvo one (probably Brinks) is just a plug in to the socket in the boot, but....needs the Volvo computer for the system to be recognised. This allows the trailer warning lights in the dash to work properly. So have cut the wife's housekeeping and will be paying Volvo the hefty

When getting a new towbar fitted make sure that if your van has a ALKO STABILLISER fitted that the towball has a minimum of 60mm depth from the centre of the towball to the base of the neck.

I had a witter assy fitted that did not comply.
